Untitled Short Poems

I

Tarnished, like an old coin

A broken clock missing pieces

Tossed away, down the gutter

Echoed, as it fell

Cling, clang as it

Rolled to a stop

The glass broken

Stop watched clock

Merely a token

of love lost.

II

The rose taffeta dress with the torn zipper laid aside

For a sleek black frock for an evening of delight

Champagne and strawberries licked my lips

We danced and laughed echoing old

Whispers once said to each other

Fifteen years earlier. said again

Lips on fire, waist held tight

Dancing, dancing through

The night.

III

Tarnished not shiny new

Worthy of more

Man-hole covers blown

Open wide fire hydrants

Splash and spurt

Flooded street cleansing itself

Pouring wetness, down the drain

Purifying, circling leaves, trash

You float away

Echoing the last

goodbye

these poems give me a nostalgic feeling...a romantic longing
